The Premiere League player who allegedly got involved in child s-xual abuse, has been revealed as the Everton midfielder, Gylfi Sigurðsson.

Recall that on Monday, July 21, it was reported that an unidentified player was arrested on Friday, July16 for allegedly abusing a child s-xually.

In an official statement released by Everton on Monday evening, the football team confirmed that it had suspended a footballer and will assist the police with their investigation.

“Everton can confirm it has suspended a player pending a police investigation.

“The Club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”

According to Icelandic site,  mbl.is, Gylfi Sigurðsson is the footballer under investigation by the police in Manchester due to an alleged sexual violation against a child. This was also confirmed by Vísir.

British newspapers Daily Mail and The Sun, among others, had reported the arrest without naming the footballer due to their media laws.

It was stated that the Everton player in question is married, 31 years old, and plays regularly with his Icelandic national team.

Sigurðsson is 31 and is married to Icelandic beauty queen, Alexandra Ívarsdóttir.
