In a grand unveiling ceremony, the Abia Online Media Association (AOMA) proudly announced Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON, OON, FCA, as one of its esteemed Patrons. The event celebrated his outstanding contributions to business, governance, and humanitarian service, cementing his status as a leading figure in Abia State and Nigeria at large.
Dr. Ogah, the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, served under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, and distinguished himself with visionary reforms, including the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI), Nigeria’s first National Gold Policy, and the Gold Purchase Scheme. His efforts strengthened local governance, fostered research collaborations, and advanced the mining and metallurgical sector.
A trailblazing entrepreneur, Dr. Ogah founded Masters Energy Group, a diversified conglomerate spanning oil and gas, manufacturing, power, finance, real estate, and logistics. Under his leadership, the Group has created thousands of jobs, developed one of West Africa’s largest petroleum storage facilities, and established Masters Energy Industrial City, the largest manufacturing cluster east of the Niger.
Dr. Ogah’s academic and professional credentials are exceptional. A Ph.D. holder in Business Administration from Lead City University, he also pursued Executive Education at Harvard Business School and the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), he also held a prominent banking career at Zenith Bank Plc before transitioning to entrepreneurship.
Beyond business and public office, Dr. Ogah’s philanthropic footprint is transformative. Through the Uche Ogah Foundation, he has provided scholarships, executed medical outreaches, and funded community development projects, including the Wilson Ogah Auditorium at Abia State University, Uturu. His contributions have earned him numerous awards, including “Onwa Abia”, United Nations Ambassador of Peace (UN-POLAC), The Sun Newspaper Investor of the Year, and recognition from the Nigeria-American Chamber of Commerce.
His appointment as a Patron of Abia Online Media Association reflects his dedication to promoting transparency, community development, and ethical leadership.
