….. Diaspora Commission Commends Reforms, Projects, and Inclusive Governance
The Abia State Diaspora Commission (ADCOM) has joined millions of Abians at home and abroad to celebrate what it describes as two years of visionary, reform-driven leadership by Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
In a powerful and emotionally resonant congratulatory message signed by Rev. Amb. Dr. Annie N. Onu, the Executive Secretary of ADCOM, the commission praised the governor’s commitment to rebuilding the state, restoring pride among citizens, and attracting global confidence in Abia’s governance.
Speaking on behalf of Abians in the diaspora, Dr. Onu described May 29, 2023—the date Dr. Otti assumed office—as the beginning of a new era defined by integrity, bold planning, and result-oriented execution.
“Two years later, the light you ignited continues to burn brighter across every sector of Abia life,” the message read.
Signature Projects Earning Global Applause
ADCOM listed several of the Otti-led administration’s signature achievements, citing them as monuments of transformation:
The total reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road in Aba, once a decaying commercial hub, now a symbol of renewal.
The dualization of Ossah Road in Umuahia, redefining the capital’s urban aesthetics.
Clearing of long-standing salary and pension arrears, bringing relief and justice to civil servants and retirees.
Adoption of digital governance models that promote transparency and improve service delivery.
Ongoing investments in education and healthcare, signifying hope for the next generation.
Security sector reforms and economic restructuring, creating a stable environment for growth.
These achievements, the statement added, have inspired confidence among diaspora Abians to return, invest, and actively participate in the state’s rebuilding process.
A New Abia is Possible—and Already Emerging
Dr. Onu commended Governor Otti’s open-door policy and inclusiveness, noting that for the first time in years, Abians in the diaspora feel fully recognized and empowered to be part of the state’s development.
“Your stewardship has given substance to the dream of a New Abia—a state that works, a people that thrive, and a future that inspires,” she said.
As Governor Otti prepares to enter the third year of his term, ADCOM pledged continued global support, collaboration, and prayers, affirming its readiness to deepen partnerships that will advance sustainable development across the state.
“Congratulations once again, our beloved Governor and reformer of destiny. May God continue to endow you with divine wisdom, good health and the courage to finish strong,” Dr. Onu concluded.
