As transfer activities in different sides intensify, former Premier League title winner and manager, Chris Sutton has advised Bayern Munich hitman, Robert Lewandowski on what club to settle for.
The former Chelsea player cum sports pundit has opined the Polish striker will be better off with a move to Arsenal over Premier League side Manchester City.
Lewandowski who has just a year left on his current contract has publicly expressed his desire to leave the Bundesliga heavyweight this summer.
Over the last few months, United United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the Poland International.
While the 33-year-old’s preference is believed to be La Liga side, Barcelona, Sutton insists he should go with the Gunners if he makes a u-turn to England’s top flight league.
According to Sutton, things are in a better position and better placed for the Gunners when compared to their counterpart, Manchester United.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5, 49-year-old Sutton said;
“I have seen that Lewandowski has been linked. If he doesn’t go to Barcelona, then he will go to Manchester United. But why?! Why would he want to go to Manchester United? There are bigger and better options out there.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs, at this moment in time and Arsenal are a better option, at this moment in time than Manchester United. One club seems to be stable under Arteta, I am not saying Arteta has torn up too many trees, but they are in a better position and they are better placed than Manchester United.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Arsenal will both feature in the Europa League after they both lost the chance to compete in the top flight UEFA Champions League.
