TRAGIC: Bus Conveying 18 Nurses Somersaults, Two Dies | READ IN FULL

Nurses heading to a party in honor of a matron, were on Sunday,  involved in a lone accident.

AFNEWS  reports that the bus conveying 18 persons, one male and 17 females, all nurses from Ademola Hospital and General Hospital Ijaye, at about 9:20am, somersaulted along the Lagos-Abeokuta highway, killing two women while others sustained injuries.

According to Akinbiyi, one of the survivors, the driver of the vehicle, a  Toyota Hiace marked OG49A07, was speeding while he was on his phone. The driver was said to have lost control of the car as he got to a sharp bend causing the car to somersault severally.

10 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries aside from the two women that lost their lives.

The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the incident said;

“According to one of the survivors, the driver was speeding and was as well using his cellphone while driving at a bend. He lost control and the bus somersaulted several times.

“The injured victims were rescued to Hope Hospital, Adigbe, before our arrival. The dead bodies have been deposited at Ijaye morgue”.
