In a shocking incident that has left the community of Bende, Abia State, reeling with grief, the Abia State Police Command has launched an investigation into the brutal murder of Mr. Jacob Udo, 78, and his wife, Mrs. Dorcas Jacob, 73. The elderly couple, both residents of Ndiwo Itumbuzo, Bende Local Government Area, were found dead in a pool of blood at their home in Etiti-ulo, Bende, on the morning of October 2, 2024.
The Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, expressed deep concern over the tragic incident and assured the public that justice would be served swiftly.
Gruesome Discovery and Investigation According to reports received at the Bende Divisional Headquarters, the lifeless bodies of the elderly couple were discovered at around 8:30 AM on October 2. Upon investigation, it was revealed that several valuable properties had been carted away from their home, raising suspicions of a robbery gone wrong. Police swiftly moved to the scene and transferred the bodies to a mortuary for autopsy.
Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the crime and are currently undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Umuahia.
Police Assure Justice Addressing the public, Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa emphasized the need for calm and patience as the investigation unfolds. He vowed that the police would unravel the mystery behind the murder and ensure that the culprits face the full weight of the law.
The Abia State Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement, stressing that the safety of all citizens remains their top priority.
