The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has threatened a reprisal for the attack on its women members in Oba Idemili South Local Government of Anambra State.
IPOB said the attack was sponsored by inconsequential politicians working with the Federal Government.
A statement on Wednesday by Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful regretted that since the attack by Aborji youths in Oba, community elders had been quiet.
It said it would ensure sponsors of the attacks pay for their crimes.
The statement reads: “IPOB finds the attack by thugs, who claimed to be Oba youths, distasteful.
‘’The attack was sponsored by inconsequential politicians working with the Federal Government. They rented some brainwashed Oba youths just to prove to their slave matters that they are still loyal.
“Those self-centered and treacherous Igbo politicians, who think IPOB is a weakling, will be surprised soon. One thing is certain – any Oba youths involved in this act will regret being a part of this evil and must pay dearly.
“It is unbelievable that since the attack on these unarmed women in Oba, nobody in Oba or Igbo land has condemned it
“…nobody should blame IPOB when we pay them back… The attackers and their sponsors should get ready…
“Aborji youths in Oba, who allowed themselves be used by the enemies against our peaceful mothers and wives, should know they can’t escape justice.”
