Orji Uzor Kalu has urged Nigerians to remain patient as President Tinubu implements bold economic reforms aimed at reversing hunger and economic challenges in Nigeria. The Senator expressed optimism for a brighter future.
Former Abia State Governor and serving senator, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to address the pressing issue of hunger in the country. Speaking on Thursday during a New Year visit to Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Kalu expressed optimism that Tinubu’s bold economic decisions will soon bring relief to Nigerians.
During his visit to the Ebonyi APC State Chairman, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, Orji Uzor Kalu emphasized that Tinubu is taking deliberate actions to reverse Nigeria’s economic challenges.
“President Tinubu is aware of the hunger in the country and is taking bold and difficult decisions to set Nigeria on a path of recovery,” Kalu stated. “He is asking us to start afresh, and while the journey might seem tough, the results will be worth it.”
The Senator admitted that he personally feels saddened by the current situation in the country but urged Nigerians to exercise patience and understanding, noting that the government’s efforts will soon bear fruit.
“We will soon see a brighter Nigeria, and the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching,” Kalu added.
Kalu praised Tinubu’s courage in implementing policies that prioritize long-term economic development over short-term comfort.
“The decisions the President is making are not easy ones, and I might not have been bold enough to take them if I were in his position,” he remarked. “Tinubu is showing exceptional leadership by making tough choices for the future of the nation.”
The visit also highlighted Kalu’s close relationship with Stanley Okoro-Emegha, whom he described as his political protégé. Kalu noted that the visit, which has become an annual tradition, fosters stronger ties and mutual respect.
In his response, Okoro-Emegha expressed gratitude for Kalu’s consistent support and mentorship, describing their relationship as a source of strength for the APC in Ebonyi.
It is noteworthy that Okoro-Emegha previously served as an aide to Orji Uzor Kalu during his tenure as Abia State Governor from 1999 to 2007. The bond between the two leaders underscores the continuity of political mentorship and collaboration within the APC.
