This is the time to defend Abia’s progress under Governor Alex Otti. Read why Abians must stand up, protect our gains and secure the future of our children.
Abia State is undergoing one of its most significant transformations in recent memory under the leadership of Alex C. Otti, OFR. Yet, as progress becomes visible—salary payments restored, merit-based jobs, roads being fixed, cleaner streets—there is a new and urgent call from the heart of the state: stand up and defend this progress.
State-born publisher Emenike Iroegbu issued this rallying cry:
“If you are a true Abian and you genuinely love what you are seeing—peace, progress, transformation—then this message is for you. This is not the time to sit on the fence.”
He recounted the stark realities of the recent past: civil servants going months without pay and divided into “core” and “non-core”; infrastructure collapsing; recruitment by patronage; waste defining the state; contracts paid and abandoned. Today, all of those shameful traits are being reversed.
According to documented reports, Governor Otti’s administration has executed over 140 road projects across the state, revitalised infrastructure in urban and rural areas, and repositioned Abia for investment and growth.
But the progress is now under threat. Iroegbu warns that those who once dragged Abia backwards are regrouping, “throwing propaganda from every corner,” seeking to hijack the narrative. He insists the time has come for Abians to be “vigilant, agile, watchful.”
“No one steals a man’s property who is vigilant.”
“2027 has already begun — the battle for our social-media space has started.”
The call is clear: this moment demands more than commentary—it demands action. Pouring energy into defence of the state, the publication’s leader says, is not optional.
He concludes by declaring:
“I am ready to defend Governor Alex Otti … and I call on every Abian of goodwill—join me. Stand up. Speak out. Defend the New Abia!”
With visible change spreading, the question now is whether Abians will protect the momentum or allow it to be derailed. The outcome could determine the trajectory of the state for years to come.
