The StraightChild Foundation (TSCF), one of Nigeria’s most impactful non-governmental organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities, is set to celebrate its 8th Anniversary and Fundraising Event with the theme:
“Bridging the Gap Between Vision and Reality in the Care of the Child with Disability: The TSCF Story.”
The event, scheduled to hold on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia, promises to be a landmark celebration of compassion, service, and transformation in child disability advocacy. The event will commence at 12:00 p.m. prompt.
According to a release from the organization, the anniversary will highlight the foundation’s journey over the past eight years — from humble beginnings to becoming a major voice championing inclusion, access, and empowerment for children living with disabilities.
The event will feature Chief Ray Nkemdirim (Ugwumba 1 of Isuikwuato) as Chairman of the Occasion, while HRM Eze Faraday M. Chinekwe, JP (Nkuma 1 of Obunaebere Nkuma), Chairman of the Isuikwuato LGA Traditional Rulers Council, will serve as Royal Father of the Day.
The Chief Host of the event is Prof. Azubike Onyebuchi, the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, while Hon. Justice Obisike Oji (Rtd) and Dr. Peace Amaraegbulam, President of the Board of Trustees, are among the key coordinators of the occasion.
The foundation’s leadership noted that the 8th anniversary will serve as both a celebration of achievements and a call to action for individuals, organizations, and the government to support sustainable disability care in Nigeria.
Guests are encouraged to support the fundraising initiative aimed at expanding TSCF’s community projects, advocacy programs, and access to specialized education and healthcare for children with disabilities.
The event will also feature testimonies, cultural displays, and the unveiling of future development plans by the foundation.
TSCF has over the years become a symbol of hope for families raising children with disabilities, promoting awareness and challenging stigma across communities.
For inquiries and RSVP, guests are advised to contact Hon. Justice Obisike Oji (Rtd) via 08055939881 or Dr. Peace Amaraegbulam via 08064239738.
