In a shocking new twist to the abduction and suspected murder case of Mr. Solomon Ikuko, the remains of the young man have been discovered this morning, Monday, October 27, 2025, in a flowing stream between Amangwo Umuigu community and a neighboring communities in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

The tragic discovery was made by youths of the community, who had on Sunday, October 26, held a crucial meeting and resolved to comb the nearby forest under the directive of the Divisional Officer of the State CID, Umuahia.

During the search operation, the youths reportedly stumbled upon a decomposing body believed to be that of Solomon Ikuko, sparking widespread grief and outrage within the community.

Sources told All Facts Newspaper that the search was ordered after growing suspicion that the victim may have been killed and dumped within the forest territory of the community.

“We were acting on the instruction of the CID Divisional Officer. We went into the forest early this morning, and what we saw was heartbreaking. The remains of Solomon were found in a stream between Amangwo Umuigu and the next community,” one of the search volunteers told AFNews.

Meanwhile, tension has heightened following revelations that the Traditional Ruler of Amangwo Umuigu, Eze Karry Ogbonnaya Agwu, allegedly made a statement in a community WhatsApp group claiming that “Solomon was not dead” and accusing the victim’s family of hiding and feeding him secretly.

This new development, however, appears to contradict the monarch’s earlier claim and has further strengthened the murder case against members of the disbanded vigilante group.

Community insiders disclosed to AFNews that, despite the official disbandment of the vigilante team, its members allegedly continued to operate under the authority of the traditional ruler.

With the discovery of the remains, the Abia State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Umuahia, is expected to intensify its investigation, particularly into the role of those earlier arrested — and the possible complicity of individuals previously shielded by influence or traditional power.

A video of the tragic discovery obtained by All Facts Newspaper shows community youths and sympathizers gathered around the shallow stream, visibly shaken by the gruesome sight.

Earlier this month, AFNews exclusively reported the arrest of seven members of the now-disbanded vigilante group over the abduction and suspected murder of Solomon Ikuko. The suspects are currently detained at the Abia State CID Headquarters, Umuahia.

The deceased’s mother, Mrs. Onyekachi Ikuko, had recounted through tears how her son was dragged out of their home, beaten, and taken away by the vigilante members, after which he never returned.

Today’s grim discovery has finally confirmed the family’s worst fears — and reignited calls for full justice for Solomon Ikuko.

“They said my son was hiding, now everyone can see the truth,” Mrs. Ikuko cried upon hearing the news of the recovery. “All I want is justice for my son.”
