Glenn, a computer science teacher had been teaching at Longridge Towers independent school near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, for 12 years, reportedly took his students to a strip club during a central America tour.
The Sun reported that Gleen was in charge of a group of 16 to 18-year-olds, when he got intoxicated with his students and brought them to a strip club.
The married father-of-two allegedly exposed himself to a female trip leader in their shared hotel room.
During one drinking session he reportedly told a student ‘I’m going to kick your f****ing head in’, and added to another ‘I’m going to f****ing kill you’.
He was too drunk to remember the threats the next morning, a professional misconduct hearing was told.
Expedition company organisers had to send him home from the trip two weeks early in July 2019.
During the misconduct hearing, he admitted unacceptable professional behaviour and conduct that may bring teaching into disrepute. He was banned from the classroom indefinitely and cannot apply to teach again for three years.
Chair person of the panel, Caroline Tilley, said;
‘Mr. Glenn was, at various times during the trip, under the influence of alcohol, and therefore not in a position to adequately take decisions or act in loco- parentis.”
