Amongst the 11 member gang, only eight were apprehended as the others had escaped, taking their weapons along.
Three were said to be indigenes of the said community
One of the suspects, Amaka who is an indigene of Enugu state said their activities varied from kidnapping, armed robbery and burning down of police stations.
While Speaking to Bliss Info TV, the community leaders had this to say “they said that they are members of ESN and their duty is to set Police stations ablaze, kidnap people and also to rob, so we brought them back to the community and went after the other suspects whose names were mentioned and we apprehended them and the course of these we found out that they have two shrines where they worship their gods or what ever.”
Another Community leader said ” they said their mission is building outlets because of fulani people but the way we see it, that is not the case. Maybe they are building the outlets so that they can start attacking the Umunnasu people.”
Meanwhile the Nigerian Police, Abia State command have been called upon to take the suspects away.
