The French giants eliminated the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League semifinals following a 2-1 win in the second leg at the Parc des Princes, clinching a 3-1 aggregate triumph to book their place in the final against Inter Milan.

Arsenal, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, faced a daunting task in France. Despite the return of Thomas Partey to the starting lineup, which allowed Declan Rice to shift back to his preferred number eight role, the Gunners couldn’t overturn the deficit.

Arsenal started brightly, creating three chances in the first 15 minutes, but PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma stood tall to keep his side in the game.

The momentum shifted when Fabian Ruiz struck to give PSG a 2-0 aggregate lead before halftime.

The second half saw PSG assert dominance, earning a penalty that they failed to convert.

Undeterred, the hosts doubled their lead, though Arsenal pulled one back through Bukayo Saka, who converted a cross from Leandro Trossard, sparking faint hopes of a comeback.

However, PSG, despite Ousmane Dembélé being limited to a substitute role due to a knock sustained in the first leg, held firm to secure the 2-1 victory.

Okocha, who played for PSG from 1998 to 2002 and remains a beloved figure for his flair and creativity, was in attendance at the Parc des Princes.

Taking to Instagram after the match, the Nigerian icon expressed his delight, posting, “Paris was lit, congratulations.”

His words reflect the renewed optimism surrounding PSG’s quest for their first Champions League title, as their stylish performance against Arsenal showed their resurgence and reignited belief among fans.
