The Governors of the south-south region of Nigeria on Monday disclosed their intention to set up a regional security outfit.

The chairman of the forum and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, while revealing the development, however, did not announce when the security outfit will commence.

The Governors under the south-south governor’s forum decided this at the forum meeting in Port Harcourt on Monday.

The Governors during the meeting also disclosed that the region would join in the suit challenging the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) by state governments.

They also asked “the National Assembly and the President to take necessary measures to review some unfair aspects of the recently signed Petroleum industry bill now act to ensure fairness and equity.”
