Excitement builds in Isiala Ngwa South as Governor Otti pushes forward with landmark healthcare project aimed at transforming Abia’s health sector.
In what appears to be another bold step in redefining healthcare delivery and infrastructure in Abia State, the government of Dr. Alex C. Otti is gearing up to officially flag off the construction of the Abia Medical City later this month.
Earlier today, government officials and development partners conducted an on-the-spot assessment visit to the proposed site of the project in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, signaling the final stages of preparation before commencement.
The Abia Medical City, one of the most ambitious health infrastructure projects in the state’s history, is expected to significantly boost access to quality healthcare services, attract medical tourism, create jobs, and transform the health profile of the state.
According to Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, the visit underscored the Otti-led administration’s commitment, dedication, and sincerity in executing projects that have real impact on the people of Abia State.
“In the New Abia, every project is pursued with seriousness and a clear sense of purpose. Governor Otti does not believe in empty promises or white elephant projects. Once a project is announced, execution follows promptly,” Ekeoma said.
Governor Otti’s approach, he explained, has made Abia an attractive destination for serious investors and partners who are convinced by the governor’s sincerity, efficiency, and results-driven governance.
“In the New Abia, when you are serious and sincere as a government, you won’t need to tell long stories before partners come knocking,” Ekeoma added.
The Abia Medical City project reflects the governor’s vision of a modern, functional, and people-centered health sector—an integral part of his broader transformation agenda. It aligns with his vow to deliver legacy projects that will not only benefit the current generation but also secure a better future for the people of Abia.
Ekeoma further described the project as a testimony to the dawn of a new era, emphasizing that good and great things are indeed happening in the New Abia—to the joy of Abians and the glory of God.
As expectations rise and the state prepares for the formal flag-off, many see the Medical City project as a turning point in healthcare infrastructure development in the South-East, and a clear proof that Abia is back on the path of progress.
