Senate Appoints Senator Chukwuka Utazi As Senate Minority Whip | READ MORE
The Senate President, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday, 21st June 2022, announced the appointment of Distinguished Senator Chukwuka Utazi as the new Senate Minority Whip.
The notification of the appointment was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate President as he read during the plenary and titled: “CONFIRMATION OF THE SENATE CAUCUS NOMINATION OF SENATOR CHUKWUKA UTAZI AS SENATE MINORITY WHIP.”
The letter dated 7th June, 2022 and signed by the National Secretary, People’s Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, stated that the nomination of Senator Chukwuka Utazi ” is for the replacement of the vacant seat of the minority whip following the evaluation of Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda to the Senate Minority Leader.”
Recall that the seat of the Senate minority leader became vacant following the defection of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) party and his subsequent resignation from the post.
“It is worthy of note that the choice of Senator Chukwuka Utazi to join in the league of the Principal Officers of the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a product of his meritorious stance and track record of excellence in the discharge of his duties as a people oriented Lawmaker and as a loyal party man” Ahmad noted.
