The pronouncement of Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu on the removal of fuel subsidy, has no doubt caused an unanticipated hardship on the citizens as petroleum marketers have leveraged on Tinubu’s declaration to create an artificial scarcity of fuel in the country.
Since Tuesday, May 30, queue has returned to petrol stations and consumers have been buying fuel at the price of N400, N500 and above.
On that heel, AF-TELEVISION visited some petrol stations in Umuahia, Abia state, to monitor sales. To the surprise of AF-TELEVISION team, a fuel station (NEPAL), still sell at the rate of N210 per litre.
The team interacted with some motorists who were on queue to buy fuel including the manager of the station, to know why the station sells at a very cheaper rate.
