Ric Hassani wraps up his latest album, Lagos Lover Boy, with a heartfelt gospel track titled “Tuale,” paying homage to a cherished musical tradition ending an album with a song of praise.
The singer-songwriter reflects on how legends like Timaya and Flavour often ended their albums with spiritually charged tracks, creating space for reflection and gratitude. “Back then, it was almost like you couldn’t make an album unless you had a closing song of praise and thanks,” he recalls.
With Tuale, Ric channels that same energy. He gathered a group of close friends and collaborators to form a mini-choir, bringing together voices that resonate with sincerity and joy. The result is a moving celebration of faith and gratitude, delivered in what he proudly calls “Naija-gospel” style.
Ending Lagos Lover Boy with Tuale isn’t just a nod to tradition it’s a personal statement of thanks, a spiritual exhale, and a reminder that behind the romance and rhythm lies a deeper foundation of belief.
