Nollywood Actress, Mistura Asunramu Alao and her children have fled their home in Dallas, United States, due to extreme cold after suffering power outage which was caused by a winter storm.
The actress who took to her Instagram handle to share her experience, said they were subjected to sleep in a cold house, cold bed, with no food, water nor power supply.
Mistura was seen in a video burning papers with her children to keep warm as they could no longer stay inside the house because of the freezing weather.
Meanwhile, a woman and a child are dead of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning after using their car to keep warm amid the blistering cold in Houston, Texas, where over a million people went without power supply overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were conducting a welfare check in west Houston after midnight when they found two adults and two children affected by carbon monoxide poisoning.
The police believe the family was running their car inside their garage to stay warm when the fumes from the exhaust penetrated into the connecting home.
According to report ,this is the second reported carbon monoxide poisoning incident in Houston since widespread power outage began on Monday .
However, the Houston police warned citizens against using generators or cars inside garages to keep warm stressing that carbon monoxide is odorless and could kill.
