It is no longer news that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has reached an agreement as regards the leadership of the party in the forth coming party congress.

Based on the agreement stated above, there are obvious implication that will be drawn from the agreement.

The agreement above has paved way for the senatorial seat of Abia South to either remain in Obingwa LGA or move to any other local government in Abia South except Ukwa axis.

But due to the political capacity of Obingwa with a sitting governor that may be interested in going to the senate, Obingwa may still hold on to the senate seat.

The battle for Abia South senate seat maybe between Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu or Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe in 2023.

Another interesting implication is that Abia South is obviously out of the gubernatorial battle in 2023.

It is politically believed that the party chairman will not be in the zone where gubernatorial candidates are expected to emerge from.

Based on the zoning, Abia South and Ukwa La Ngwa axis may have finally being ruled out from PDP gubernatorial contest in 2023.

The PDP agreement have opened the flood gate for Abia north PDP governorship race in 2023.
