President Muhammadu Buhari, has received the first made-in-Nigeria android phone at the State House in Abuja.
The android phone was presented to the President on Wednesday, June 9, by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, before the commencement of the week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Adebayo, the phone was produced by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre, using locally sourced components.
“Twelve indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund; an agency under Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment was launched.
“It gives me great pleasure, Mr President, to present you with one of the phones” Adebayo said.
