A Philanthropist/Educational promoter in Abia State Mr. Austine Emeka Bonny popularly known as De Lazz has called on the government and other well-meaning Abians to assist those schools in the rural areas by providing the necessary support needed to enable the students get the best education.
Mr. Bonny who made the passionate call during an interview with Abia Facts Newspaper reporter Chimezie Okoroafor in Umuahia, explained that as a child, his intention has been to assist humanity by providing every necessary support for better life, noting that for the past 25 years, he has been able to affect lives positively through some of the laudable things he has done for his people.
Mr. Austine Emeka Bonny further hinted that in a bid to encourage children to go to school, he is empowering scores of Students in his Community Ihechiowa in Arochukwu L.G.A by distributing thousands of copies of the Exercise book he printed in his name, so that it will cushion the heavy burden being mounted on parents on daily basis.
He further mentioned some of the Secondary Schools in Ihechiowa Community that have so far benefited from this humanitarian gesture to include Okpo Secondary School, Achara Ihechiowa Secondary School as well as Umunnabuo Technical Secondary School, other Schools which have also benefitted include Ihechiowa High School and Glorious Vision Secondary School Umuzomgbo Ihechiowa among others.
The former Councillor and a one time House of Assembly Aspirant went further to disclose that he has been doing this for the past Ten years, adding that soon, he will embark on renovation of Schools and other important things in the area, due to his love for education.
He decried the situation which has made it possible for children to be learning in an unconducive environment and call on the Government and well-meaning Abians who are promoters of education to ensure that those schools in the rural areas are given proper attention by the government to enable students there to have a sense of belonging.
