ABIA GUBER ELECTION: PDP Reacts To INEC’s Suspension Of Obingwa LGA Result

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia state, has called on the INEC Chairman,Professor Mahmood Yakubu and Barrister Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner voter education and information to prove their credibility by announcing the governorship election result from Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.

Barrister Onyekachi Charles Ezeonu PDP’s collation agent made the call while speaking with ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER at INEC headquarters in Umuahia on Monday, after the electoral umpire announced the suspension of further collation of results from Obingwa pending review of the electoral process.

The credibility of the INEC Chairman and Festus Okoye, are at stake.  INEC should do the proper and just thing. Obingwa result should be collated and the winner declared and not for them to do anything contrary” Ezeonu charged.

He refuted reports that INEC office in Obingwa was invaded by thugs on Sunday, alleging that the report emanated from those who doesn’t want “PDP who won the election to be declared winner”.

He accused the returning officer of Umuahia south of having a relationship with the Labour Party governorship candidate, Dr Alex Otti and manpetitionng election result.

“we have won this election, let them declare us the winner” he added.

Meanwhile, Obingwa election result is the only result pending out of the seventeen LGAs of the state. According to INEC, a National Commissioner of the Commission will lead a team to Abia state on Tuesday, to review the election process of Obingwa.
