Pastor Kumuyi: No need to pay tithe if you are a sinner

God does not need the tithes of sinners, according to Pastor William Kumuyi, saying that sinful people who practice the popular Christian doctrine are wasting their money.

The founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry wants his congregants to take the matter of holiness seriously and has expressed that if he spots the ten-percent contribution of sinners in the church he would refund it to them because neither God nor the church needs such money.

Speaking at the church’s headquarters along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, the 80-year-old said: “If you are a sinner here, God does not need your money. All the money you are giving in this church does not get to God. You are just wasting your money.”

Pastor Kumuyi is famed for his messages of holiness.

“As a matter of fact if I know the numbers of sinners here and how much they gave as tithes and offering I will remove it and give it back to them. God does not need it and the church does not need it,” he emphasised.
