Governor Alex Otti expresses gratitude to Abians for choosing peace amid nationwide protests, stressing the importance of non-violent demonstrations and revealing plans to fix School Road in Aba.

In a recent address, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Abia for heeding his call to avoid participating in violent protests against the widespread hunger and hardship in the country. Speaking at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on School Road in Aba, Governor Otti emphasized the importance of peaceful means of expressing dissatisfaction.

“I want to thank the good people of Abia who listened to my plea not to flood the streets and disrupt daily life. While I acknowledge the challenges we all face, resorting to violence is not the answer,” Governor Otti stated. He highlighted that many citizens, including traders, Keke riders, barbers, and taxi drivers, depend on daily earnings to survive. Disrupting their activities would only exacerbate the hardships they face.

Governor Otti also announced that the School Road in Aba would soon be repaired, providing much-needed relief to the area. He expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support from the church members and called for continued prayers for his administration, emphasizing the need for unity and peace during these challenging times.
