Otti Campaigns In Umuahia South, Says “Abia Is At The Level Where Leadership Cannot Be Joked With” | READ FULL
Otti who has kicked off his campaign, stated this in Umuahia South during his interaction with the people, traditional rulers and leaders of the local government area.
The townhall meeting enabled the frontline gubernatorial candidate to give insight into his plans and policies for the people of Abia State.
Alex Otti equally used that opportunity to educate the people on the measures put in place by INEC through the use of BVAS, which he said has tamed the atrocious culture of hijacking ballot boxes and writing fake results, but still assured the people that effective anti-rigging measures would be put in place to secure their votes.
In his words “Abia state is at the level where we cannot joke with leadership. Everything succeeds and fails at the altar of leadership.”
“We shall clear the salary and pension arrears within the first six months of our administration as an intentional strategy geared towards alleviating the sufferings of Abia workers and pensioners.
“We shall set up a modern ceramics industry at Ohiya which will provide a lot of jobs for our jobless people, just like Dr. Michael Okpara did in the past. In the next three years, Ndi Abia shall no longer import tiles and other related materials outside the state”, he concluded.
In a related development, Dr. Alex Otti paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Eze Steven Ihuoma (UBILAUBI 1) in his palace at Umunwanwa, in Umuahia South.
Dr. Alex Otti was received by the Traditional Ruler of Umunwanwa in company of his Council of Chiefs at Ubakala, Umuahia South.
The frontline governorship candidate robbed mind with the elders, and laid out his plans for the people of Umuahia South and Abia in general.
Otti thanked them for the warm reception and promised to provide solution to the problems of the community listed by the leaders.
While receiving the ex bank chief, Eze Steven Ihuoma appreciated the Labour Party governorship candidate for finding it worthy to come and interact with his people, and made a commitment to mobilize people and resources for his triumph in the coming election.
