OSUN 2022 POLL: INEC Set To Conduct Mock Accreditation | READ DETAILS

Ahead of the July 16th Governorship Poll in Osun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has revealed that it would conduct a mock accreditation as part of its effort to ascertain its level of preparedness for the election.

This was disclosed by the INEC Public Affairs Officer in the state, Oluwaseun Osimosu, in a statement in Osogbo on Sunday.

The statement, which indicated that the exercise will hold in selected polling units in the three senatorial districts of the state, added that the mock accreditation commencing on Monday would end on Tuesday.

The statement read in part, “This is to inform the general public that the Independent National Electoral Commission, in preparation for a hitch-free July 16 governorship election in Osun State, will be conducting mock accreditation on Monday, July 4th and Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in six local government areas of the state, two registration areas/wards across the three senatorial districts.”

Meanwhile, INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Sunday arrived the state to begin a series of engagement and evaluate the commission’s preparation for the governorship poll.

Osimosu, who confirmed Yakubu’s arrival, said the INEC boss was holding meeting with top management staff members of the commission as of the time she was contacted by our correspondent.
