Euphoria, is the ambience mood that has enveloped and gripped Isuikwuato LGA communities in the recent times in the wake of the highly anticipated visitation by the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
- Ambivalent Feelings
April 17, 2025, for a long time to come, shall be remembered for one thing: shall leave mixed feelings of sweet memories for some segments, and equally strong, bitter or sour memories in the minds of some segments of Ndi Isuikwuato LGA, when the Governor and his entourage step into the warm, rousing embrace and reception of Abia Arise and Labour Party faithful and stakeholders. The atmosphere shall be super charged and electrifying on that day, even as the atmosphere is gathering intense momentum, in the earnest preparations, for Abia Arise and Labour Party members. For the opposition political parties, April 17, 2025, and the mega political events of the day, shall mark another cocktail of major and unpleasant political set backs, characteristics of the recent times.
- Gain and Losses
Among the major gains for Ndi Isuikwuato LGA and Labour Party/Abia Arise, is the official declaration of Hon. Lucky Johnson, Honorable Member, representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, in the Abia State House of Assembly, as a member of Labour Party. Labour Party’s gain, invariably, translates to a huge, immeasurable, and painful loss, to PDP.
- Exodus and Paradigm Shift
Recently, Hon. Lucky Johnson, made his intention and decision known publicly and announced his departure from PDP, and to team up with Labour Party, to foster his future political career. Lucky Johnson, shall be welcomed officially in the fold of Labour Party, by Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the Abia State Governor, and by the apex leadership hierarchies of Labour Party, in Abia State and Isuikwuato LGA, on that historic day and events. April 17, 2025, is bye, bye time, to PDP, by Lucky Johnson, but welcome to Labour Party, for Lucky Johnson, from the armies of admirers from the Labour Party. Lucky Johnson, and his political cohorts, shall be swelling the ranks of Labour Party, but depleting further the already hemorrhaging PDP in Isuikwuato LGA, by virtue of embracing Labour Party, as the new political platform to leverage on to render better services to Ndi Isuikwuato LGA.
Still on gains and losses, another significant gain for Labour Party but a colossal loss to PDP, is the migration and departure of Hon. Chukwudi Ogelle, from PDP camp to Labour Party camp, as his new political base. Ogelle, two tenure member of the Abia State House of Assembly, represented Isuikwuato State Constituency, recently deemed it wise to drop PDP association and to identify with Labour Party. Senator Emma Nwaka and Hon. Chima Agbaeze, were the first set of PDP stalwarts to jump ship, for safety, from the sinking PDP vessel. Hon. Charles Emenike, erstwhile PDP Chairman, Isuikwuato LGA and Hon. Emmanuel Ibegbulam, also bid farewell to PDP. The spate of Exodus already recorded and more waves of Exodus likely to hit PDP, is a reflection of the collapsing structure and image of PDP, in Isuikwuato LGA, and even beyond.
- What’s Next?
As the Labour Party is in constant ascendance, PDP is disintegrating and crumbling, rapidly and irreversibly. Politically, only one logical deduction and inference shall be established from the unfolding parallel political developments, especially in the context of the realignments, evident in the waves of Exodus from PDP to Labour Party and other parties: it is politically suicidal to remain in the camp of the crumbling PDP edifice. Political parties, are set up for some principal goals and objectives- to win elections; to serve the electorate (not to plunder the electorate or to loot treasuries); to win new converts as Party faithful and members. In these contexts, PDP in Isuikwuato LGA and Abia State, has been reduced to and turned into a political LIABILITY. Liability, is synonymous with MISFORTUNES.
April 17, 2025, Marks a new political milestone and trajectory, in Isuikwuato LGA.
