Dr. Uche Ogah, President of Masters Energy Group, has expressed heartfelt grief over the loss of his close friend and Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. He extended condolences to President Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, and the bereaved family, recognizing General Lagbaja’s service as a testament to his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s security and unity.

 

In a heartfelt message of condolence, Dr. Uche Ogah, President of Masters Energy Group, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of his personal friend, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 56. Dr. Ogah described the late General’s untimely death as a monumental loss to the Nigerian Army and the entire nation, lauding his dedication to Nigeria’s peace, unity, and security.

 

“I extend my deepest condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Nigerian Army, and the bereaved family of General Lagbaja,” Dr. Ogah said in his statement, adding that the sudden passing of the Chief of Army Staff was a devastating blow to all who knew him.

 

Reflecting on his distinguished military career, Dr. Ogah praised Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria. “General Lagbaja’s career was marked by exceptional service to our nation’s security, and his dedication remains a tribute to his uncompromising commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress,” Ogah stated.

 

General Lagbaja held numerous critical positions in the Nigerian Army, where he displayed unmatched expertise and strategic acumen. His leadership in various security operations, including Operation ZAKI in Benue State, Operation Lafiya Dole, Udoka, and Forest Sanity, underscored his relentless dedication to Nigeria’s stability. From serving as a platoon commander in the 93 Battalion to his contributions in the 72 Special Forces Battalion, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy reflects a life spent in faithful service to the nation.

 

Dr. Ogah concluded his tribute with a prayer for the departed General’s family, “May God comfort the immediate family of my departed friend and grant him eternal rest in Heaven.”

 

The passing of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja has sent waves of grief across Nigeria as the country mourns a dedicated officer and national hero whose life and service stand as a testament to the values of courage, commitment, and patriotism.
