OFUJI Bende Women Cash Support programme is empowering petty traders and strengthening grassroots businesses across Bende Federal Constituency. Find out how.

In a push to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and promote inclusive economic growth, the OFUJI Bende Women Cash Support for Petty Traders initiative has been unveiled as a targeted intervention designed to uplift women operating small-scale businesses across Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State.

The programme, powered by the Chima Anyaso Foundation (CAF), is aimed at providing direct financial support to women whose daily trading activities sustain families, drive local commerce, and keep community markets alive.

According to the organisers, the initiative recognises women as the backbone of the informal economy, particularly in rural and semi-urban communities where petty trading remains a critical source of livelihood.

By injecting cash support directly into their businesses, the programme seeks to help beneficiaries expand operations, restock goods, stabilize income, and build economic resilience amid prevailing economic challenges.

The organisers explained that the intervention goes beyond financial assistance, describing it as a deliberate effort to promote economic dignity, self-reliance, and sustainable community development.

They stressed that empowering women at the grassroots level creates a multiplier effect, strengthening household stability while stimulating broader local economic growth.

The cash support exercise is scheduled to hold on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the OFUJI Resort, Onu Ibina, Igbere, Abia State, with activities commencing by 2:00 PM.

Beneficiaries and key stakeholders from across Bende Federal Constituency are expected to attend the event, which organisers say represents another strategic step toward building an inclusive economy driven by opportunity and shared prosperity.

Speaking on behalf of the foundation, the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Mr. Chima Anyaso, reaffirmed the organisation’s long-standing commitment to community-focused empowerment initiatives that address real needs at the grassroots.

He noted that the OFUJI Bende Women Cash Support programme aligns with the foundation’s vision of supporting small businesses, promoting dignity of labour, and fostering sustainable economic growth through practical interventions.

Organisers encouraged all selected beneficiaries to attend the event, describing it as a moment of collective progress and renewed hope for women entrepreneurs across Bende.
