Odumeje, Others Must Pay Demolition Cost – Soludo Says, Give Reason | READ MORE

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State, has said that Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere popularly called Odumeje and others, must foot the bills incurred from the demolition of their marked properties.

The governor while speaking in Awka, the state capital on Friday, noted that the affected persons were a-fore warned to remove their buildings marked. He said demolition of the properties cost the government money and as such the owners would pay after the bills have been compiled.

Soludo regretted that Odumeje tried to restrict the officials from carrying out their job on a part of his church building, noting that others affected including St. Dominic Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen Catholic Church co-operated.

In his words;

“It is costing us money. They had several notices to remove such structures, but they refused.

“The demolition started on Thursday, and so far so good. The demolition went well, except for Pastor Odumeje, who according to the report, drove in, in a brazen manner and attempted to take over the equipment.

“Of course, state work must go on, and security had to stop him. This was a man who was in the several meetings we had and also spoke.

“In fact, this is costing us money, and the structures should have been removed before now, but they choose to test the resolve of government.

“Once we are done with this exercise, we will compile the bills and send them to the persons involved, and they must pay.”
