YPP’s Nwafor dumps politics for performance, throws full support behind Alex Otti’s government. What he said will shock you — read full story now!

UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE — April 25, 2025 | All Facts Newspaper

In a stunning public endorsement that has sent political tongues wagging across Abia State, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), has openly declared support for Governor Alex Otti, calling on Abians to rally behind the administration irrespective of political affiliations.

Nwafor, who made the remarks at a high-profile NULGE event in Umuahia on Friday, described Governor Otti’s leadership as transformational, stating that even a blind man can “see the visible impact of governance” in Abia State.

“Even if you are a blind man and you go to Port Harcourt, you will do everything possible to support this government,” Nwafor said, drawing loud applause from NULGE members.

The former governorship hopeful recounted his drive from Aba to Umuahia, noting a significant environmental transformation:

“There was not a single heap of waste from Aba to Umuahia. That alone tells you this government is serious.”

He likened Governor Otti’s achievements to that of a successful child in school, asking rhetorically:

“If you send your child to school and he comes first in class, won’t you send him again?”

Engr. Nwafor stated that many of the policies and actions of the Otti administration mirror his own vision for Abia during his campaign, but he recognized that “power comes from God and everyone has their time.”

“If your brother is doing well, you support him — you don’t envy him,” he declared.

Nwafor’s statement is seen as a rare show of maturity and statesmanship in Nigeria’s usually polarized political space. Rather than resorting to post-election bitterness, he chose to commend competence and leadership, irrespective of party lines.

“This administration is doing well. All we need to do is support them. That’s the right thing,” he concluded.

The development has sparked political shockwaves as many YPP supporters express mixed feelings over Nwafor’s blunt honesty. Meanwhile, observers say the move may inspire more political stakeholders to set aside party differences for the sake of Abia’s development.
