Npower: Minister Gives Important Transition Update To Batch A And B N-Power Beneficiaries

The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has noted that she and her team her working to ensure a successful transition for the N-Power beneficiaries.

AFNEWS recalls the federal government of Nigeria had disengaged Batch A beneficiaries of the scheme in June 2020 while Batch B beneficiaries will also be disengaged by the end of July.

Explaining the reason for its decision, the government noted that the move is not to punish affected beneficiaries but to make resources available to cater for the in-coming Batch C beneficiaries.

The government however assured that the Batch A and B beneficiaries will not be left to their fate as efforts are ongoing to transit them into an entrepreneurship programme.

Giving an update via a Tweet from her verified Twitter handle on Sunday, Hajia Farouq noted that the plans and efforts to create a successful transition for the exiting beneficiaries were still in place.

She wrote:

“My team and I continue to interface with stakeholders to ensure a successful transition for the
@npower_ng. It has been 16 days since the portal opened and we have received 4.48 million applications to date.”

Meanwhile, administrators of the federal government social intervention scheme, N-Power have warned applicants and members of the public against falling for fake news making rounds about the programme.

Specifically, members of the public were warned against news making the rounds about an assessment schedule or test schedule for Batch C applicants.

It added that they will be notified through appriopriate channels when its time for the assessment.
