The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has advised mobile line users to connect their phone numbers and nationality identity numbers (NIN) by October 31, which is the deadline.
The regulatory commission said those who do not have a NIN number will soon be denied access to certain government items, including driver’s licenses and passports.
In a statement obtained by All Facts News, the commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde advised people to take advantage of this opportunity afforded by the extended registration deadline of October 31 to connect NIN with their phone lines.
“People who do not have a NIN will soon be denied access to other basic necessities of life, including driver’s licenses and passports,” he warned.
The statement read, “NCC has reminded and urged telecoms consumers to link their NINs with their SIMs before the expiration of the deadline of October 31, 2021, set by the Federal Government.
“Soon, people without NIN will be denied necessary services that play vital roles in their lives including acquisition of driving licence, passport.”
