JUST IN (NNAMDI KANU VS FG): Appeal Court Fixes Date To Rule On Stay Of Execution Application
The appeal court, Abuja division will today, Friday October 28 deliver judgement on the Federal Government’s application for a stay of execution order on Nnamdi Kanu‘s release.
This was announced by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ejiofor wrote on his social media handle;
We were just served with Hearing Notice from Court of Appeal, Abuja Judicial Division to the effect that Ruling on the Federal Government’s application for stay of execution on Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Court of Appeal Judgement has been fixed to be delivered at 3pm today, being the 28th Day of October 2022.
Be assured that despite the short Notice , victory on our court of Appeal Judgement has come to stay.
Recall that following the October 13 judgement of the court of appeal ordering the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu as he was discharged of all terrorism charges, the federal government filed an application seeking for a stay of execution. According to the FG, Kanu poses a flight risk and was a threat to national security.
