This will be Nigeria‘s 14th time at the U-20 AFCON, and the Flying Eagles have produced top Super Eagles players like John Obi Mikel, Joseph Yobo, Julius Aghahowa, Victor Obinna, and Taye Taiwo.

With seven titles, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles arrive in Egypt as the most successful team in CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations history.

Nigeria has been put into a tough Group B that contains previous winners Morocco, Kenya, and Tunisia.

The Flying Eagles want to win a record-breaking eighth U-20 AFCON championship.

They have to advance to the semi-finals, which would guarantee qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Goalkeepers: Ifeanyi Ebenezer Harcourt (Sporting Lagos); Rufai Abubakar (Mavlon FC); Soliu Ajia Yakub (FK Novi Pazar, Serbia)

Defenders: Adamu Maigari (El-Kanemi Warriors); Odinaka Okoro (Sporting Lagos); Daniel Bameyi (Bayelsa United).

Others are; Emmanuel Chukwu (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Germany); Chigozie Michael Ihejiofor (Katsina United).

Midfielders: Caleb Ochedikwu (NK Uljanik Pula, Croatia); Israel Isaac Ayuma (NK Istra, Croatia); Simon Cletus (Mavlon FC).

Others are; Sulaiman Alabi (El-Kanemi Warriors); Auwal Ibrahim (Akwa United); Shafiu Duguri (Wikki Tourists)

Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Tunisia

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria take on Tunisia in their group opener on Thursday, May 1, 2025

The game will be available on DSTV, Startimes and other CAF licensed networks.

The game will kick off at 4 PM Nigerian time.
