Nigeria vs Ghana: Ahmed Musa returns, to lead Super Eagles against Black Stars in LondonAhmed Musa will captain the Nigeria Super Eagles at the Unity Cup in London later this month, leading the team against Ghana and other nations.

The club announced on their social media that Musa is set to lead the national team from May 26 to 31 during the four-nation competition featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago.

Musa, who has been in impressive form for Kano Pillars this NPFL season, has scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists, reinforcing his case for a national team recall after being omitted from recent World Cup qualifiers.

His leadership and experience are seen as vital assets for a squad that could be missing several key players due to club commitments and FIFA regulations.

The Unity Cup marks a significant opportunity for the Super Eagles to build cohesion ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria will face their historic rivals Ghana in the semi-finals on May 28, promising a high-stakes showdown between two of Africa’s most decorated football nations.

Musa’s return will be widely welcomed as he remains one of Nigeria’s most capped players and a proven goal scorer on both domestic and international stages.

The Unity Cup 2025 will be a week-long celebration of Afro-Caribbean football culture, with matches and community events held at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium.

The tournament will conclude with a final and a third-place playoff on May 31, providing a platform for Nigeria to assert its dominance and prepare for upcoming international challenges.

Super Eagles’ new coach, Eric Chelle, has also promised to use the mini-tournament to test new faces and tactics as he looks to build on his start to life with the African giants.
