2023: Nigeria Needs Good Leadership, Not Minding Religion – Senator Bima
The Senator representing Niger South Senatorial District of Niger State, Senator Muhammad Bima Enagi has thrown his support on APC Muslim -Muslim Ticket on the basis that Nigeria needs good leadership.
He made this known while talking with newsmen in his office in Abuja.
Bima said “I believe religion is not that important. Whether, it is Muslim, Christian, or it is Pagan, it doesn’t matter. What we need most is good leadership. We need developments and any party that is able to provide us with good leadership and development and peace to remain in the country, I am for that.
“So to me, I don’t mind whether is a Muslim- Muslim ticket or a Muslim-Christian ticket. But I must also not fail to make you understand that my party, the APC, presently at the presidential level has the Muslim-Muslim ticket, and I think it is good for this country. What our party Constitution says is for us to rotate power between the North and the South. And presently the President is from the North. The next president, hopefully, will come from the south and he has chosen his vice from the north. And that has fulfilled the constitution of our party and I’m satisfied with that. All I need is good leadership. In my state. We have had Muslim Christian, as well as Muslim Muslim, presently we have Muslim Muslim, and our party is also Muslim Muslim. And there’s nothing wrong with that. All we need is good leadership and development.
During the meeting, Bima also talked on issues threatening the food security of Nigeria in the coming years, top of which was the activities of insurgents, bandits, and kidnappers who are not just threatening but killing farmers all year round.
Senator Muhammad said that the issue of security is a cause for concern to everyone in this government.
“The government is trying to address the issues of security but there are security challenges everywhere such as in Mali and Niger and the majority of West Africa”, stating that the North-Central, West, and East are affected as well.
The Senator advised that “we must continue to support the government on these issues.”
Speaking further, Bima said that Nigeria should take advantage of the international market since Russia and Ukraine is at war with themselves.
“Yes, I agree with you that a good opportunity exist. The country can take advantage and explore the international market. Yes, I believe it is known that Ukraine and Russia presently having serious issues amongst them or a war between them. And that has affected the global grain supply, especially wheat, which is very important for bread and for many other commodities. We are fully aware of that. I’m fully aware that this country is blessed with a lot of arable land, which is also good for wheat cultivation.
“Remember, we are having security challenges, especially in those states that have been producing wheat, like Kano state, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi. We’re having security challenges there. And it’s my wish, it’s my prayers, that some of those security challenges will be tackled, so that we will not only be able to produce enough wheat for local consumption, we should we should also be able to export them to neighboring countries.
