The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD rejoices with the entire citizens of Nigeria on the occasion of the occasion of the 59th Anniversary of our independence as a sovereign nation.

Ikpeazu describes the event as yet another opportunity for Nigerians to thank God for the privilege of nationhood and to rededicate ourselves to those worthy ideals of building a nation that is stronger and more united.

Governor Ikpeazu congratulates the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and all leaders in the country across all levels on this milestone and urged them to rededicate themselves to the pursuit of the welfare of the people.

The Governor especially wishes the good people of Abia State a restful and joyous Independence Holidays while assuring our people that he remains committed to the relentless quest of a better life for the people of Abia State.
