Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted at a possible reunion for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson in a recent update.

Fabrizio Romano has teased that Nicolas Jackson could be reunited with a former manager in a new update about the Chelsea striker’s future.

Despite scoring 24 times across two Premier League campaigns for the Blues, Jackson’s time at Stamford Bridge has been filled with untold criticism of his performances.

Pundits and supporters have often cited his finishing as a source of frustration, and getting sent off twice at the end of last season was the final straw for many critics.

While the arrival of Liam Delap was expected to provide competition, the immediate impact of Joao Pedro has caused many to believe that Chelsea can do without Jackson, who has been linked with a host of clubs in England and Europe.

Romano’s update on Jackson’s future at Chelsea

Manchester United were rumoured to have some interest in Jackson before signing Benjamin Sesko, but the Red Devils not advancing their interest has not lessened the transfer rumours.

Two more Premier League clubs — Newcastle United and Aston Villa — have been linked with an interest in the Chelsea man, while Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Romano posted on social media on Thursday, suggesting that Jackson could move to Villa, where he could be reunited with ex-Villarreal boss Unai Emery, Newcastle, who are keen to hold on to Alexander Isak, and Bayern Munich.

“There’s big movements ongoing around Nico Jackson, he’s definitely set to leave Chelsea very soon,” Romano posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“Understand Newcastle and Bayern have both called again in last 48h, Aston Villa pushing as Unai Emery wants him.

“Decision soon.”

Could Jackson still stay at Chelsea?

Jackson’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain, especially after Enzo Maresca’s comments at a press conference on Thursday.

“Nicolas Jackson is available, but he’s not part of the squad for West Ham,” said Maresca. “We know something can happen before the window closes. With Christo, it’s the same answer.”

Maresca’s remarks came before Chelsea’s Premier League match at West Ham United, where they aim for their first league win after last weekend’s draw with Crystal Palace.
