A director in the ongoing Voter’s mobilization and Healthcare Support in Abia State, Mr. Daberechi Kingsley Ekejiuba on Tuesday, 15th March 2022, reiterated the need for people across the 17 local government Areas of Abia state to participate in the ongoing INEC continuous voters registration exercise.

He said this while speaking to ALL FACT NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS) at the registration points in Aba North and Aba South LGAs.

Registration On Going

He said; “Citizens must take responsibility in the quest to build an egalitarian society. Gone are the days when people agonize and criticize without taking necessary steps to make a difference in their society.

“The purpose of the ongoing project in Abia is to make the INEC registration process easier for our people and provide medical help. We are committed to making sure that all eligible voters in Abia are registered “.

On the bright side, Mr. Ekejiuba eulogized the ReadytoVote-(Sorom Tuo) volunteers for their wonderful efforts in the field as testified by INEC officials.

‘With the statistics available, over 12,000 voters have been registered in the last 4 weeks thanks to the wonderful work done by INEC officials in Abia State’ he added.

He regretted that Abians have been nonchalant in getting their PVCs as only 55, 000 registered voters were recorded before they kick-started the project to sensitize people on the need to be registered and get their PVCs.

Speaking to registrants in Aba North and South LGAs, Ekejiuba thanked them for taking advantage of the opportunity to get registered and obtain the onetime passport to decide the fate of Governance in Abia State. He encouraged them to spread the ‘good news’ and inform everyone within their reach that INEC registration point is now at their doorstep. He also advised them to take the medical help seriously and abide by the recommendations made by the medical personnel.

He remained hopeful that the success the project has recorded will be doubled in the coming weeks.

Organizations pioneering this project are; African Primary Health Care Foundation (APHC), Organization For Impact And Reform (OFIAR), 100 Igbo U.S.A. Inc. (A social and charitable non-profit organization), The Nigerian Physical Advocacy Group (NPAG), Progressive Abia youths, Ready To Lead Africa, National Independent Electoral Commission.
