NCC to Support NAERLS In Digitizing Nigeria’s Agricultural Extension Services | WATCH VIDEO

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which is the independent National Regulatory Authority for Telecom industry in the country, is set to support the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS) in digitizing the agricultural extension services in the country.

The NAERLS is one of the 18 National Agricultural Research Institutes (NARIs) under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, saddled with the responsibility disseminating proven agricultural technologies/ information & advance the frontiers of Extension in Nigeria.

Professor Emmanuel Ikani, the Executive Director, NAERLS noted that the agency wants to bridge the gap of reaching farmers using ICT.

He noted that the Federal government has established in their institution, an ICT base called a national farmer helpline. He disclosed that it is their aim to boost the centre to reach out to farmers easily in all the geo political zones.

Efosan Idehen, Director Consumer Affairs, Bureau, NCC was present.
