NCC Partners Google To Promote Broadband Penetration In Nigeria | VIDEO
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is partnering with Google to promote broadband penetration in the country.
NCC is the independent National Regulatory Authority for Telecoms Industry in the country.
Addressing delegates of the NCC, Juliet Ehimuan, West Africa Director, Google, noted that the Multinational Technology company wants to queue into the NCC’s bid on creating affordable access to internet for Nigerian users.
“The NCC is looking at ensuring that there is an enabling environment for broadband growth and affordable access in Nigeria and thas actually what we are about as well” Ehimuan said.
According to her, in the next 5 years there will be additional 300 million internet users in Africa which Nigeria will have a huge part.
“Obviously the NCC is playing a very important role in fueling that growth” she added.
She congratulated the Commission on the recent auction of the 5G spectrum and other initiatives accelerating broadband growth
