Ahead of Saturday’s House of Representative election, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Barr Oracle Nwala, has visited some churches to spread his message of hope.
At the African Gospel Church, Ahiaba Okpuala, the frontline candidate stunned the worshippers with his sense of candor, when he told them that a legislator should not earn more than a lawyer. He told them that the Parliament should be a part time job and that it is wrong for lawmakers to be government contractors. He emphasized that he is in the race to make a difference not just in the constituency but in the nation at large, promising to sponsor bills that will have life changing impacts.
At the Light of the World Christian center, the SDP flag bearer made it clear to church members that it is the duty of the church to stand for truth and for what is right. He challenged the church not to shy away when things go wrong in the society.
Drawing an analogy from the biblical triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the legal luminary said it was symbolic that his party logo is horse. He said that as a follower of Christ, he too will ride to the city of Power, Abuja, on a horse.
The Senior Pastor of the ministry, Evang. Okamgba Innocent, said he made an exception for Barr Oracle Nwala to come and address the church, because the spirit of God allowed him to do so, saying past experiences had forced him to foreclose politicians from coming to address his ministry.
He led the church to a special prayer session and prophesied that the Man Oracle will emerge victorious in the polls.
