Evangelist Ezekiel Dachomo, a respected cleric based in Plateau State, has disclosed that his life is at risk following a viral video in which he exposed what he described as the systematic killings of Christians in northern Nigeria. In the video, the regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) publicly declared that if kidnappers seized him, “nobody should contribute a dime” to secure his release, and affirmed that his impending death would serve as a rallying cry for Christian liberation.

Dachomo asserted that the gruesome video of the mass burial of civilians in Heipang community near Jos was documentation of the ongoing persecution of Christian villages. “I filmed the burial so history will not deny what is happening to our people,” he said, adding that his own family has faced threats, and his grandmother and uncle were murdered in previous attacks.

In a chilling message to his faithful, the cleric said:

“I don’t know where I will be next. My life is in grave danger. If they kill me, let my blood raise war that will lead to Christians’ liberation.”

His statement comes amid recent allegations that Fulani militias have killed dozens of Christians in Plateau State villages — claims that human rights monitors have highlighted but which security forces either challenge or deem unverified.

The cleric’s video and message have triggered strong reactions. The Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF) in Plateau dismissed his claims as “false propaganda designed to incite ethnic and religious division” and warned that further spreading of such narratives may lead to prosecution.

Despite the pushback, Dachomo remains unbowed. He continues to call on the federal government and international community to take urgent action, denouncing what he sees as the neglect of Christian-majority rural communities:

“If Christians had attacked Muslims, the entire military would invade our villages,” he said.

As tensions persist in Plateau, his warning adds to fears among vulnerable communities across Nigeria’s Middle Belt. The question now turns to whether authorities will act on his allegations or whether his voice will be silenced before justice is served.
