Mrakpor Hits Again: As Delta Govt Fight Against Street trading Continues

In line with the urban renewal effort of the Delta State government,the task force of Delta State Capital Development Agency (DSCDA) led by it’s Director-General Mrs Onyemaechi Mrakpor in company of security agencies took a hit at street traders plying their trade at the popular Ogbosisi market,Ezeani and Jemok junction in the capital city Asaba .

Mrs Mrakpor who came in the company of her task force and security agencies demolished make shift shops erected by the traders at this popular junctions .As the demolition continued traders hurried to save their goods ,those who were lucky were able to save their goods, while the unlucky ones bemoan their loss .

Some of the traders who spoke to AFNEWS cried and berated the Capital City Development Agency boss,they accused her of taking away their source of livelihood.They said with this action of Mrs Mrakpor they wonder how they are going to fend for their families especially in the midst of this Covid-19 since their sources of livelihood has been destroyed. They called on the government to look on them with pity as it will be difficult for them and their family to survive during this period when effect of the Covid-19 pandemic is serious been felt by all,especially poor homes like theirs,they said.

Recall earlier last week Mrs Mrakpor and her team has supervised the demolition of the popular Abraka Market in Asaba in line with the Urban Renewal derive of the Okowa led government.
