… “Mothers Are the Bedrock of Society,” Chinasa Advocates a Return to Family Values
Abia, Nigeria – As Christians worldwide observe Mothering Sunday, Chief Iheanyi Frank Chinasa has called on mothers in Abia State and across Nigeria to return to their God-ordained role as home builders, emphasizing that the moral decline in society stems from the neglect of traditional family values.
In a strongly worded statement, Chief Chinasa expressed deep concern over the increasing societal breakdown, which he attributes to the abandonment of the essential role mothers play in shaping the future generation. He stated that the modern pursuit of career ambitions and financial independence has led many women to shift their focus away from their primary duty of raising children with strong moral foundations.
“Mothers are the cornerstone of our society, and their influence extends beyond the home into the very fabric of our communities,” Chief Chinasa asserted. “As moral instructors, mothers are tasked with instilling values, discipline, and character in their children. When this role is neglected, society suffers the consequences.”
Chief Chinasa emphasized that the home is the first institution of learning, and it is within this space that a child’s moral compass is shaped. He urged mothers to recognize their divine duty to nurture, guide, and build their homes in accordance with biblical principles.
“As we celebrate Mothering Sunday, I call on mothers to embrace their primary responsibility of home building,” he urged. “Let us rediscover the joy of raising our children in the fear of God, teaching them the values of integrity, respect, and hard work that will make them responsible citizens.”
To further support his message, Chief Chinasa referenced Proverbs 22:6: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.”
He concluded by encouraging mothers to prioritize their roles as the first teachers and moral instructors of their children, stressing that the future of any nation depends on the strength of its families.
