Moroccan Midfielder Tipped For Summer Premier League Transfer

Sofyan Amrabat has been tipped to join a Premier League club in the summer with Liverpool among the clubs linked.

Midfielder Amrabat, the younger brother of former Watford man Nordin Amrabat, has played a key role in Morocco’s surprise run to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

He currently plays for Serie A outfit Fiorentina but his performances in Qatar have seen him linked with Liverpool.

It’s also been reported that Tottenham tried and failed to sign the 26 year old in January.

And Moroccan journalist, Amine El Amri, believes Amrabat will get a move to a Premier League club, however, any potential suitors will have to wait until the summer to sign him.

El Amri added that he believes Amrabat has been the tournament’s standout midfielder.

“I think there’s a big chance that he might go there [the Premier League]” El Amri told talkSPORT.

“But everybody will have to wait until the summer because Fiorentina don’t seem to want to sell in the next couple of weeks.”

“He’s a great footballer in addition to being a raging bull.”

“I’m trying to be as objective as I can but I think he’s been the best midfielder in this World Cup.”

“I have nothing but respect for guys like Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Rodrigo de Paul and many others but I think he’s been absolutely the best player in midfield in this World Cup.”

Amrabat and Morocco have been on a stunning run at the World Cup having finished top of a group which had both Belgium and Croatia in it.

They got the better of Spain in the Round of 16 before beating Portugal in the quarter-finals to become the first African and Arab nation to reach the last four of a World Cup.

Standing in their way of a place in the final are reigning champions France.
