A civil society organization, Abia for Good Governance (AGG) has staged a peaceful protest in Umuahia the state capital of Abia state.
In a peaceful protest led by the convener of the group, Mr Don Norman Obinna, the group said that the purpose of the protest was to draw the attention of the world and INEC Chairman to various unprofessional conducts of INEC staff who have obviously compromised on matters of principle.
The group which had its peaceful movement at the Okpara square in Umuahia, also moved to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Umuahia.
Amongst the demands of the group is the removal of allegedly known PDP card-carrying members such as:
Dr Philip Nto, Daberechi Ekwueme, Ujah Promise, Engr K. C Okoro and many others.
The group also alleged that a former governor who is now a senator was spotted at the INEC headquarters doling out gifts to officials of the Commission, an act which contravenes the code of conduct of the Commission.
